Celebrating a Dozen Years: Team Members Insights on LCP Media's Journey

Time has flown by as LCP Media marks its 12th anniversary this month. A journey that began with a vision and a handful of dedicated individuals became a thriving enterprise. As we pause to celebrate this milestone, let’s look back at the remarkable achievements that have shaped LCP Media. But most importantly, let us thank the incredible people who have made it all possible.

In honor of our 12th anniversary, we sat down with some team members who have been integral to LCP Media. They saw the evolution, weathered the challenges, and contributed to all the success. Join us as we explore their experiences, anecdotes, and insights - a glimpse into the heart of LCP Media.

As we toast these twelve years, let’s celebrate the past, present, and future of innovation that define us.

Wojciech Kalembasa, CEO and Co-Founder - Since the beginning

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: The wild wild west sums things up nicely.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: After months of reaching out, Google called us back and said, “You are not as big as we would like you to be, but let’s give it a shot.”

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: Don’t be afraid to think big, plan for a big future, and act as if you’ve already made it.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Our strong team won’t back down.

Tom Lisak, Senior Vice President of Sales - Since the beginning

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Bootstrap, hustle, scrappy.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Easy. The Christmas parties.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: If you want to go fast, you go alone - if you want to go far, you must go together.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Building LCP from the ground up.

Tom Chomiak, Chief of Technology - 11 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Fun, driven, and innovative.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: My favorite memory was when we hit 1,000,000 scenes for Panoskin (now TourBuilder). We took a group photo with the screen counter. Unfortunately, our lead salesman, Tom Lisak, was on a call with Greystar when this happened. So, we took his photo separately in front of the screen, and then Pat Ash photoshopped Lisak into the original photo. Pat Ash to the rescue!

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: My biggest lesson learned is that it takes a team. We wouldn’t have gotten to this point without the great team we’ve built.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: The most significant achievement was launching Panoskin (now TourBuilder). This pivoted LCP from a service company to a prop-tech company.

Anthony Lin, Vice President of Product - 9 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Drive, customer-focused, excited, opportunity.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Someone brought a live lobster as their white elephant gift for Christmas one year. Animals were consumed but not wasted. Sending the air balloon to the stratosphere to create a virtual tour of space from the Adler Planetarium in downtown Chicago was amazing. And finally, wiping out in a hoverboard race in the office.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: Nothing is impossible.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Creating our own virtual tour product instead of reselling Google’s.

Pat Ash, Photo Editor - 9 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Determined, flexible, and devoted

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: I would have to say the Christmas parties are part of my favorite time of year. It’s just a great time of the year, and I have no specific Christmas part in mind, but it’s good to get together and see everybody.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: I would say to keep the work consistent and always strive to produce better than what you did before. We’ve grown so much in what our end product is throughout the years, and it’s really good to see innovation is still going strong.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Probably breaking away and not being so dependent on Google. In the early days, Google was a tremendous component/partner with LCP, which was great. But it would have been detrimental if they decided to break away from us. It’s good to see now that we have grown so much to be our industry leader in media service development.

Maciej Piech, Full Stack Engineer - 9 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: About 10 years ago, when we were in the old office, the company felt cramped, relying on Google and constantly experimenting.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Moving to the River Rd office. That moment made me feel that LCP was stepping out of the “learning to walk” phase, and we became serious players in the field.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: Working with everyone on your team and seeing your job from their point of view.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Becoming recognized not only by our target clients but also by well-established brands like Google and GoPro.

Israel Betanzos, Vice President of Production - 8 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Innovative, resourceful, and out-of-the-box

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Our first summer BBQ was when we had a dunk tank—nothing like getting the co-founders to fall into that.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: Everything is possible, and the only limitations are the ones we put on ourselves.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Hiring me! Just kidding, sort of. I would say fading out from the Google overlay and having our proprietary software for virtual tours.

John Harter, Chief of Operations - 7 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fun.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Our ability to stick together over the years. There are still so many people in the same great place.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: If you do not learn how to do things for yourself, no one will figure them out for you.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Managing the growth of over 600%.

Jennifer Alesse, Vice President of Operations - 6 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Energetic, inventive, tight-knit.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Our balloon launch to capture the first Google StreetView tour in space. It was unique and so much fun to witness.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: Change is not easy, but it’s necessary for growth.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: From one small idea of virtual tours and photos to all that we now offer has been a fantastic achievement

Rayhanna Guillen, 3D Technical Manager - 6 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Driven, young, and fun.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: Being able to travel to several European countries for work that I otherwise would not have gotten the chance to visit.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: I can do anything as long as I put my mind to it.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Expanding the company from 10 people to over 80 people. Watching the company grow into what it is today has been excellent. Expanding our family overseas has been one of our most significant achievements.

Nick Harter, Senior Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships - 5 years with LCP Media

Q: Can you use three words to describe how the company was back in the day?

A: Fun, dynamic, ambitious.

Q: What is your favorite memory/event/party/moment you’ve had at LCP Media?

A: I’m unsure I can break it down to a single moment. I feel privileged to have met many amazing people at LCP Media and the multifamily industry. As a salesperson, I’m constantly meeting and being introduced to new people. Each day can bring challenges, but the generosity and kindness I have come across make me incredibly optimistic about the future.

Q: What’s been your biggest lesson learned since starting here?

A: I’ve learned to become more patient and a better listener. I’ve realized that it’s essential to take the time to understand someone’s point of view before I respond. Patience and listening have helped me to build stronger relationships with my colleagues, clients, and customers. They’ve also helped me to be more successful in my career and life.

Q: What would you consider the most significant achievement for LCP Media?

A: Being synonymous with virtual tours in our industry.
